A dial up terminal uses your phone line to obtain authorization and approvals on credit, debit and gift cards. The dial-up terminals dials a toll free numbers to servers. Sends the information via a regular land line and obtains an authorization. The dial up terminals is just as reliable as other terminals but takes an average of 8-10 seconds to obtain an authorization. These terminals are cheaper and more cost effective at half the price of a terminal that uses the internet for credit card processing. For trouble free service, these terminals will require a regular copper land line from your phone company. They will not work properly with VOIP service and we highly recommend that you have a regular copper phone line from your phone company.

IP terminals use your internet connection to process credit, debit and gift cards. These terminals connect to our servers through the internet and obtain an authorization in 2-3 seconds. The terminals cost a little more than a dial up terminal but you'll have an authorization in a couple seconds. Your lines will move much faster and it won't tie up your phone live. It's basically a plug and play terminal, just plug it in the back of your router and it will be ready to process transactions in a few seconds. If at any time your internet connection goes down, these terminals have dial-up connectivity and automatically switch to using a phone

Most merchants don't realize that all they need for an IP connection is a hi-speed internet connection like DSL or Cable. The same connection that allows all your computers to connect to the internet will be the connection that allows you to process transactions through your IP terminal. This also eliminates the need for an additional telephone line to process transactions.

All transactions being processed through the IP terminals are 100% secure. When the software sends the transactions from the computer to the certified gateway, it passes the data through a secure socket layer (SSL) which ensures that all the data is properly encrypted and that it can't be compromised. The software itself never stores any credit card data; all data is stored securely on the gateway.
